Perun

The Perun system constitutes an integral part of the Czech e-infrastructure, ensuring the user, group and access to service management. Users can benefit from a single point of access to services. The system allows for delegating the administration on responsible staff members. Thus, entities connected to CESNET may manage their users independently without having to contact the administrator of the e-infrastructure.

The service can also be used to manage access to e-infrastructure services and the services provided by other participants. Perun is registered in international identity federations. Thus, users from foreign entities can also be administered. The basic system features include:

  • User management by means of virtual organisation management;
  • Access control management in respect of e-infrastructure services and own services;
  • User, group and service management;
  • User registration management;
  • User publication acknowledgement management,
  • Data provided through LDAP, SAML2 attribute authority, VOOT, SCIM interfaces and push mechanism,
  • Synchronisation with external IdM systems.

Perun has been developed by CESNET and CERIT-SC staff members in cooperation with the students of the Masaryk University in Brno and Czech Technical University in Prague.
