The basic features

MetaCentre manages and coordinates the operation of the National Grid Infrastructure (NGI), which is part of the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI). It provides a distributed computing environment enabling access to computing and data resources for tackling highly demanding computational tasks that exceed the capabilities of individual workstations in the Czech Republic.

Services offered include:

Grid computing
HPC clouds
Platforms such as Hadoop

Access to these resources is granted via application to MetaVO after authentication through the eduID.cz identity federation.

Resource owners can seek user support to onboard their resources into MetaCentre.

The service is exclusively for academic and research purposes, available to students and researchers at institutions in the Czech Republic. It is provided on a best-effort basis.

The service is available to organizations connected to CESNET e-Infrastructure without additional charges.
