Network Operations Centre (NOC)

In cooperation with the ServiceDesk, the Network Operations Centre (NOC) ensures the non-stop (24 hours a day, 365 days a year) technological supervision over the operation of the CESNET network infrastructure. NOC performs the following activities:

  • Monitors the infrastructure status (using FTAS and G3 services and other tools);
  • Assesses failures and actively interferes with the network configuration;
  • Performs regular prophylactic checks;
  • Manages documentation to the network infrastructure;
  • Implements changes to the configuration;
  • Notifies the user through the ServiceDesk;
  • Notifies of the planned outages;
  • Handles unplanned outages;
  • Addresses detected anomalies and security incidents;
  • Administers delegated network elements (based on an separate agreement);
  • Ensures technical assistance/advice in respect of the connection to the CESNET e-infrastructure (basic assistance is free of charge).

Target audience

The service is provided automatically to all participants in the CESNET e-infrastructure.


The service is provided to the participants free of any additional charge. NOC may also provide individual technical consultations (fee for which is determined individually).


The service is available to the participants once they have been connected to the CESNET e-Infrastructure. The communication with CESNET NOC is channelled through the ServiceDesk which is available 24/7/365.
