Research Data and Artificial Intelligence: Brno hosts international conference on the future of open science
On 21 and 22 May 2025, the international conference Research Data Day & EOSC National Tripartite Event took place in Brno, attracting more than 200 participants from 40 institutions across Europe. The two-day programme offered lectures, panel discussions and workshops focused on research data, artificial intelligence and the role of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiative in the development of open science.

We are pleased to announce that the Trusted Certificate Service (TCS) has been restored after migration to a new provider. It is now provided by the Greek academic certification authority HARICA.

Locked Shields 2025: CESNET was at it again
This year, colleagues from CESNET took part in the largest international cyber security exercise Locked Shields 2025, which took place on 5. - Locked Down Shields 2020, held on 9 May under the leadership of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE).

CESNET successfully tested the new TOSHIBA LD QKD system
CESNET's OptiLAB recently tested a newly acquired TOSHIBA LD quantum key distribution (QKD) system that represents the cutting edge of secure quantum communication. This system enables the generation and distribution of cryptographic keys based on quantum phenomena, thus ensuring an extremely high level of security against eavesdropping. The acquisition of the QKD system is part of a broader strategy to develop a quantum secure infrastructure and its deployment opens up new opportunities for research in quantum cryptography and single photon physics.
