Mentat

The Mentat system is a tool for unified processing of security information obtained from security tools within the CESNET e-infrastructure. The Mentat system complements the Warden system. Both systems have been developed, tested and operated in particular for the application within the CESNET association, for its members and participants.

  • Mentat is a modular Security Information Management System (SIEM) designed to administer and process information from security tools (IDS, IPS, probes, honeypots, logs, etc).

  • The Mentat system processes a number of security events coming from many different sources, mostly security tools which monitor the CESNET e-infrastructure.

Target audience

The service is available to all participants or parts thereof. The web interface ensures a unified approach to security events and incidents relating to a particular network; enables to define the security incident reporting (by means of e-mail notifications) and provides access to global statistics of stored data.

Fee

The service is available free of any additional charge to the entities connected to the CESNET e-infrastructure.

The interested entity should send a request to the User care department.
