IP connectivity (IP)

This service ensures the basic connectivity to the CESNET e-infrastructure (the CESNET3 network) at speed of n x 10 Gbps with a transmission speed of 100 Gb/s. The fully-optical backbone network allows for data transmission with a minimum delay and low jitter. Its high reliability is ensured by the combination of backbone infrastructure redundancy and continuous network monitoring. The e-infrastructure provides access to the pan-European network GÉANT and other partner networks (Internet2, ESnet, APAn) which enable the users to operate sophisticated and unique application in the supra-national environment.

The basic features include:

  • Symmetric connectivity without any aggregation and limitation;
  • IPv4 and IPv6 protocol support, both with unicast and multicast addresses;
  • Access to partner networks for science, research and education in Europe, USA and other regions worldwide, access to the Internet with highly above-standard parameters;
  • High availability and reliability thanks to redundant network topology;
  • 24/7 Monitoring and user support (Service desk),
  • Allocation and administration of address sources (NIC).

Service options:

  • Member organisations (based on the membership):
    • Primary member access (standard),
    • Back-up member access (standard),
    • Access for remote locations (contribution 50%).
  • Participants (based on contracts):
    • Primary access (guaranteed speed, or “plus” speed),
    • Back-up access.

Key benefits

  • High-speed and high-capacity infrastructure;
  • High reliability, availability and flexibility of the network;
  • Emphasis on security;
  • 24×7 infrastructure monitoring;
  • Solutions tailored to users.

Target audience
