Dedicated circuits and networks (Circuit)
Dedicated end-to-end (E2E) links at link layer (L2) for special applications requiring high throughput and low latency.
The dedicated links is established to the CESNET3 network point-of-presence, and in some cases as far as to the location of a special lab or appliance that requires such a connection. In cases where a part of route traverses transport network of another provider (multi-domain option), the Ethernet Carrier service complying to the MEF standards can be established enabling connecting even those sites beyond the CESNET3 network reach. Such connection also enables single VLAN operation and numbering within the participant’s network (common for all interconnected LAN).
Options:
- Shared bandwidth deploying VLAN;
- Virtual private networks (L2VPN, VPLS, EoMPLS)
Dedicated circuits and networks can be implemented in the Czech Republic and across the borders (through GÉANT Plus).
Key benefits
- Shared bandwidth with other IP traffic;
- Safe transmission – independently from ordinary traffic.
- Interconnection of a single L2 network through two or more localities;
- Suitable for interconnection of two or more data centres (localities) between which the servers migrate using the same IP addresses.
Target audience
The services provided by CESNET are available to entities which comply with the Terms and conditions for the access to the CESNET e-infrastructure, primarily entities focusing on science, research, development and promoting education, culture and prosperity.
Fee
Contribution for the implementation of the service (association members: up to 50%, participants: up to 100%) – determined individually based on basic feature requirements.
