CESNET has joined the large-scale high-speed network testbed FABRIC (Adaptive ProgrammaBle Research Infrastructure for Computer Science and Science Applications). FABRIC is an international infrastructure that enables cutting-edge experimentation and research in networking, cybersecurity, distributed computing, data storage, virtual reality, 5G, machine learning and scientific applications.

FABRIC consists of 29 nodes in the United States, 3 nodes in Europe, and 1 node in Japan. CESNET is connected to the node in Amsterdam via a 100 Gbps Facility Port.

The FABRIC infrastructure will be used for validation of network applications developed by CESNET and for educational purposes in the form of student work in cooperation with the Faculty of Information Technology of CTU. More information about the FABRIC testbed can be found at https://portal.fabric-testbed.net.
