CESNET will stream selected lectures from the Week of Science and Technology

Prague, 03 November 2017 The CESNET association already traditionally mediates the on-line broadcasting of selected lectures that are performed during the Week of Science and Technology. This year’s event shall take place from 6 to 12 November. Interested parties can see the selected lectures on the event website (www.tydenvedy.cz). The same site will offer recordings of lectures made by CESNET.

Already in its 17th year, the largest science festival in the Czech Republic is organised by the Czech Academy of Sciences. During the Week of Science and Technology, more than 500 events will be organised throughout the Czech Republic. The festival is intended for primary school pupils, secondary school students as well as the general public. Visitors can look forward to the open days of the individual work sites of the Academy of Sciences, lectures, exhibitions, a science show and panel discussions across the scientific disciplines.

Entry to all events is free, but for most of them it is necessary to make a reservation through the festival website.

The CESNET Association was founded by Czech universities and the Czech Academy of Sciences in 1996. It is engaged in research and development in the field of information and communication technologies and builds and develops the CESNET national e-infrastructure for research and education. Thanks to its research activities and accomplishments, it represents the Czech Republic in important international projects, particularly in building the pan-European GÉANT data network or grid projects (EGI.eu), and actively participates in their implementation. The Association also works on the use of high-speed networks for sharing multimedia data both through synchronous video conferencing and shared applications as well as asynchronous streaming.
