Basic features

The service supports high-resolution video transmissions suitable for various applications such as surgical operations, scientific visualizations, artistic broadcasts (dance, music), and collaborative video data processing in resolutions up to 8K.

It can be deployed in locations not connected to CESNET's e-infrastructure, provided adequate network capacity is available, and can involve international partners.

The service utilizes in-house developed hardware and software (MVTP, UltraGrid) tailored to specific transmission needs, offering multipoint transmission of up to 8 video channels at resolutions including 2K, 4K, and 8K, as well as support for stereoscopic (3D) transmissions.

Video signals can include multi-channel audio and may be transmitted uncompressed or compressed using technologies like H.264, DXT1, DXT5, JPEG, and JPEG2000.

The equipment supports both one-way and simultaneous two-way transmissions between endpoints, and can multicast to multiple recipients using optical reflectors.

CESNET engages with interested entities to analyze requirements and facilitate connectivity solutions, including interconnecting video sources and displays (servers, projectors). For endpoints lacking direct CESNET network access, collaboration with users is needed to ensure suitable last-mile connections, which can impact deployment timelines ranging from several days to weeks depending on complexity and international scope.

  • Two-way transmission of multi-channel video in HD, 2K, 4K, and 8K, along with multi-channel audio, ensuring low latency.
  • Option to transmit uncompressed or utilize video card compression.
  • Capability to interconnect multiple endpoints.
  • Customizable adjustments based on user requirements.

The service is available to any organization, not only those connected to the CESNET’s e-infrastructure. The service acts as ad-hoc support for major events or experiments.

The fee is determined individually.
