Using our UltraGrid technology, which we are developing for low latency, high-quality video, and audio transmissions, we participate in live transmissions of procedures from the University Hospital in Hradec Králové and Pardubice Hospital at the XXXII workshop of the Czech Society of Cardiology. In two days we broadcast a total of 6 procedures from the cardiac catheterization rooms in both hospitals.

These days we are hosting a workshop on the SEQRET project, led by our colleague Josef Vojtěch, concerning the secure distribution of quantum keys for European telecommunication networks. The workshop presents the workflow of the individual packages. A plan of test scenarios for crucial use cases is discussed and prepared in great detail. A continuous variable (CV) QKD system has also been successfully tested in the CESNET lab on a real fiber route. If you would like to learn more about the project you can check out the project page.

Together with our partners, CERIT-SC from Brno and IT4I from Ostrava, we invite you to the e-INFRA CZ conference. It will take place on 29-30 April 2024 at the Occidental Hotel in Prague. Registration and programme can be found on the event website. The conference will be held in English.

The lecture on the FABRIC testbed will be held on 21 March 2024, at 15:00 in the SAGElab laboratory (room A-1452) at the Faculty of Information Technology, CTU, Thákurova 7, Prague 6. The FABRIC testbed is the largest 100 Gbps network testbed supported by the NSF (National Science Foundation). Currently, FABRIC is mainly used in US universities for solving theses and dissertations in a wide range of IT applications. In November 2023, CESNET and, through it, university students gained the ability to work with FABRIC. The talk will show how to become a FABRIC user and how to work with it

We are a partner of the scientific conference Modern Practices in Distance Care and Rehabilitation Medicine, which will take place on 4-5 April 2024. The conference focuses on the contribution of technology to healthcare and the unlimited potential of modern innovations in healthcare. Our colleague Jan Kolouch will be an invited expert at the conference and will give a lecture on Cyber Security and AI in Practice.

The first meeting of Ceph object technology specialists took place on 6 March 2024 at the CESNET association, which is also the founder and coordinator of this working group. The main initiator is our colleague Michal Strnad. The goal of the group is to share operational experience and solutions to interesting or unusual problems, discussing the proper design of the cluster and services, including functionality testing. Participants included colleagues from BIOCEV, CEITEC, CDN77, Czech Television, LIVESPORT, and SEZNAM.cz.
